It's shameful

How families break and friendship remains.

It's sinful how young parents no longer take the time to educate their children on manners and then blame others for 'disciplining' their children.

It's upsetting that children now have 'more power' over their parents than the other way around. Not that there needs to be any power but if I were to replace it with any other word, it'd be 'control'.

I pray that the days when I will have children that I will be able to educate them the way my parents educated me and better. That I will decide to spend more time with them than with my work. That I will do just about anything to nurture them towards success.

And that I shall not be too hard on them or risk having a child involved in prostitution.

May Allah guide us all, married, single, father, mother and child.

And for the hundredth post,

Let there be joy, laughter and happiness!!

For my office is now connected to the internet :D Hey, don't pray-pray, it's been three weeks and at least 3 'computer companies' that came to set it up and today, with the fourth guy, we managed to get it online.

It's no small deal, really because we're not using the normal ADSL. Since the company has offices in a few other countries, it's significant to have the IP addresses fixed as compared to ADSL's random IP assignment. We chose TM's 1.5M SDSL connection which gives us 1.5 upload/download speeds. ADSL's speed, as the name goes, is asynchronous which means that upload and download speeds differ.

Why is that necessary?

It's simple. When you open a webpage to browse any content, you'll have to download it from the net. Anything you do on the internet involves downloading stuff however, uploading comes into play when you wish to 'post' something on the net such as emails, pictures, blogs, etc. Still, in the act of uploading things on the internet, you'll still require 'checks' to make sure that the data you sent arrives safely and to instruct the uploading computer to send more.

If you study networks, you'll understand better. Try checking it out at How Stuff Works.

Now the problem with ALL of the people working in the computer shops that I've encountered these past 3 weeks is the same: They have no idea what SDSL is. I don't blame them. I don't know what it was either, until we met the TM rep who introduced us to this package. And it's NOT cheap, going for RM600+ per month. It's nothing you want to install in your house :)

The stress I've been having these past 3 weeks are attributed to that. And to some meddling hands and Alhamdulillah, I can put them all behind me now.

He should've listened to me from the beginning. Pandai-pandai sangat.. huh.. :P

ANOTHER TWO!

YESS... another two posts and I'll hit CENTURY!

I would've hit century a long time ago if I combined my friendster postings as well but alas! I deleted them. And ALL the poems written in between. Sangap jugak masa tersedar tu tapi apakan daya,

terlajak taip boleh backspace,
terlajak delete online content, hilang selamanya..

I met a long lost friend on facebook recently. I was actually discovered. Sebenarnya, facebook ni lagi effective daripada friendster and myspace put together. It's evident in the number of friends I've accumulated on facebook, a self profiling online program that I joined not more than 6 months ago. I've been on myspace for over 2 years, although scarcely, and friendster since 2004, thanks to Dina's invitation. Friends in friendster has reached 160 facebook's friends list just broke 200!

I find facebook more appealing than the other two due to its relevance to a wide variety of crowds ranging from social to antisocial to religious to gaming to whatever the take, you name it and they've got developers for it. I for one have not even began to survey programs but until now have at least 20 applications linked to my profile that includes my all time favourite, SCRABBLE and newly found favourite Warbook, My Heroes Ability and Text Twist.

As a friend and cousin put it, in our most recent conversation today, the presence of these personal profile programs allows us to keep in touch with our friends, relatives and colleagues from anywhere we are without being/sounding intrusive or absurd. We get to tell our connections things we've gone through, places we've visited, games we play and even send gifts to loved ones as a sign of remembrance and affection, ALBEIT virtually.

Despite of all the positiveness these profiling programs bring, we should also not be too relax in ensuring that our privacy is protected. Information such as telephone numbers, house addresses and other key details should be kept away from sites that is open to outside viewing and information farming for the simple reason: You'll never know who's reading. If you're of a more freakable nature, you might also want to limit the amount of applications you add to your profile because every application that you add adds to a more accurate profile of you as a person, so much so that someone who views your profile will be able to tell things about you without even having to meet. I for one am a freakable person and so I keep my profile brief.

It's really up to one's flavour and means on adding spice to an already spicy dish.

I Feel Like..

.. No, I can't possibly know how it feels because I've never been it.

But I feel awful right now. Kinda disappointed and 'useless'. Yeah, the 'useless' word comes up again. I don't think I'm cut out to be involved in a business yet, especially one that I don't have a hand on.

Thinking of quitting.. I do have a place I can get employed at, apart from Radicare that is. Just a matter of attending interviews and looking good. What say you?

Quickie 2

I work best when I feel I have the creative allowance to execute my job. I work worst when things are imposed, sometimes not to my agreement. Thus the term imposed.

I'd rather be me than be someone else.

Quickie..

Rush. RUSH!

I've got a seminar to attend at 9am and I'm still at home. And still have time to blog. Why? Because I'm waiting for some pictures to print.

Hurry printer, hurry!

Links..

Have a child of school-going age but don't know where to go? Go here.

Looking for an alternative shopping 'mall'? Go here.

Want to know more about Khalifah Method/Model/Project? Go here.

I'm frustrated that I cannot locate Allahyarham Professor Muhammad El-Muhammady's reference website. Does anyone have any links to that?

I've also checked out www.khalifahmethod.com and that site is no longer in use.

Earliest today..

Woke up when the clock was still showing 5:xxam. It's the earliest I've waken up to for quite a while. Some days, I just wonder where my morning went for my night lasted so much longer.

Buat ibadah takpe jugak, ni gi mengadap skrin komputer/peti bodoh. Tried looking for a better translation of "Idiot Box" but failed. Found a website that does professional Malay-English translation though..

Today.. morning, going to UNITAR to send the letter that was supposed to be sent on Friday then on Monday and without further delay, will be sent today. Then have lunch, then go to the office. The guys from Telekom will be arriving to install the telephone and internet lines after lunch but will have to follow up with the lady at Bukit Mahkamah to confirm.

The office has its signages ready and most of the carpentry work done. They were connecting the cables at the workstations when we left yesterday and were supposed to do the tiles last night. Workstation chairs will be arriving today and the leather ones will follow in two days' time. I'll put up some pictures when the view is complete.

Like my father, I SO LOVE the background logo. As a teaser, those of you who want to know what I'm talking about, it's this new workplace I'm at. Visit Lawand Tourism's main webpage for further details.

Last Train to London

I was listening to this when I blogged the two articles just now..

It was 9-29,9-29 back street big city.
The sun was going down, there was music all around
It felt so right.

It was one of those nights, one of those nights when
You feel the world stop turnin, you were standing
There, there was music in the air.i should have been
Away, but I knew Id have to stay.

Chorus

Last train to london, just headin out,
Last train to london, just leavin town.
But I really want tonight to last forever
I really wanna be with you.
Let the music play on down the line tonight.

It was one of those nights, one of those nights when
You feel the fire is burnin, everybody was there,
Everybody to share,it felt so right.

There you were on your own, lookin like you were
The only one around,i had to be with you,
Nothin else that I could do,
I should have been away, but I knew Id have to say.

Repeat chorus

Underneath a starry sky, time was still but hours
Must really have rushed by,i didnt realize
But love was in your eyes I really should have
Gone, but love went on and on...

1st

Today is day 1.

The first day of my affiliation with Lawand Tourism & Travel Sdn. Bhd.

The first day of a new lesson, a new vocation, a new working environment.

The first of many future first days.

And it ended very well indeed.

I'm happy :)
