So, jobless again, for now..

And here endeth work.

Officially the first (unofficial) day of (re)unemployment for me. What happened the last week?

1. Went to work on Wednesday, 16 January '08 to review the existing documents so Joe may bring with him to Dubai when he meets the other guys who made the initial request. Joe's the civil engineer you see, the documents the bridge (marbles, pebbles, stone, cement, everything else) and Hamdan and I the quarry workers, getting the bridge ready. Joe wants a summary of the cash flow so made the summary, completed that evening.

2. Went to work on Thursday, 17th to present the summary to Joe and Hamdan. Made some other edits in some other documents - shifted some figures one line down to make better sense of the tables, edited some links, reformatted some pages. Started making plans for the finished documents.

3. Went to work on Friday, 18th. Hamdan wanted to bind all the docs but many docs were not printed yet. Decided to make 5 copies of everything, 4 for Joe to bring and 1 for Hamdan to keep. Printer was busy and the one that was free just wouldn't print. Pissed, left office and went home just before Jumaat. Had Jumaat in Taman TAR. Managed to prepare a to do list for Monday and a separate to do list for me.

4. Went to work on Monday. Wait.. It's Sunday. Made some formats on daddy's computer. He has pdf995 (www.pdf995.com). It's a utility that makes conversion of anything microsoft into pdf format. Why? Because I (kinda) worked my ass off for this submission, I don't want it to be reused by someone else. If they want to, they'll have to do it the hard way. Yup, the price of effort. PDFed all that we had, then compiled them using acrobat. The result? A (seemingly) professional work. Burnt work on CD.

5. Went to work on Monday. Showed Joe the finished product. He was impressed. Well, he's pretty impressed with anyone who knows how to type on Word, haha.. Oh, I've heard uncountable additional vocabs when he worked his Word. Checked with Hamdan on the documents, still some to prepare. Compiled the works as per Friday's to do list and sent them down to be bounded. Plastic cover finished so went to Carrefour to buy. Hamdan was slightly pissed but motivated by the completion of 1.5 months of work, braved on. Everything was ready by 2pm, compiled them into envelopes and gave to Joe. Home we went.

Joe's leaving KL on the 24th (tomorrow morning) via Emirates (I think) and returning on the 31st. Gave myself until 14 February to decide if it's worth waiting.

Have a job already? Keep it. Thinking of moving? Secure a new deal before leaving the old job. I made two mistakes and am experiencing the effects of those mistakes. Now that you've read this blog, try to learn from me.

Believe me, it's one long, arduous and tiring experience, hoping that the next deal would be THE ONE.
